What Types Of Waste Can You Put In A Mobile Skip Bin?

We accept most types of waste, with only a few exclusions. For a few items, additional costs may incur. See below for more details.

Household & Office Junk

Household & office junk consists of things like: furniture, packaging waste, toys, clothes, general items, appliances, electrical, green waste (no soil), mattresses, rugs, household items, magazines, stationary, computers etc.

This could involve:

  • Spring cleans
  • Deceased estates
  • Relocation leftovers
  • End of lease
  • Household clean-ups
  • Office and business clean-ups
  • Garage declutter
  • Rubbish and junk removal

    Construction & Building Waste

    Construction waste consists of:
    Plasterboard (Gyprock), timber, framing, metal, construction and building waste, light demolition waste, carpet, flooring, doors, pallets, etc.

    Heavy Demolition Mix consists of:
    Rubble, render, tiles, sand, cement, concrete, screed, bricks, pavers, all types of masonry etc.

    We have a maximum limit of 2 tonnes of heavy demolition waste per PortaSkip Bin.

    This could involve:

  • Renovations
  • Fit out sites
  • Commercial refurbishments
  • New construction

    Demolition Waste (Kitchen & Bathroom)

    Light Demolition Mix consists of:
    Vanity, joinery, showerscreens, fittings, bathtubs, plasterboard, villaboard (non-asbestos), timber framing, cornice, insulation etc.

    Heavy Demolition Mix consists of:
    Rubble, render, tiles, sand, cement, concrete, screed, bricks, pavers, all types of masonry etc.

    We recommend a 4 or 5 cubic metre mobile skip bin for a bathroom or kitchen demolition project.

    * A limit of one bathroom can be disposed in any size PortaSkip bin. We estimate an average bathroom weighs between 1.5-1.8 tonnes.

    Unacceptable Waste

    Liquid Waste: Includes all types of paints, solvents, oils, fuels, chemicals (cleaning liquids), food and beverages, bathroom, kitchen, laundry products.

    Flammable Liquid: Fuel, diesel, petrol and oil.

    Asbestos: If located in bin reload fees will apply.

    Food Waste: All types of food and beverages are not permitted in the skip bin, being new unopened or discarded food. No animal parts or whole.

    Dangerous Items: Includes fire extinguishers, gas bottles, compressed gas canisters, all types of batteries and fuel containers

    Additional Costs

    Mattress $110 each.
    Tyres: $75 each.
    Paint Cans: $30 each.
